Description |
Every so often a very special offering becomes
available. We feel that is the case with respect to
the 1932 Ford pictured here. This car was sold new
in Lodi California. One of the previous owners still
lives in that area, and can tell the early stories.
The Victoria went East and ended up in Fargo North
Dakota, then on to the Milwaukee Wisconsin area,
where the current owner completely disassembled and
produced the incarnation as displayed here.
The
chassis and all of the body, including fenders,
grille shell, fuel tank, are the original parts that
this car left the factory with. The only sheet metal
replaced, was the '25' long louver hood side panels
instead of the common '20' louver style. The body,
fenders have never been rusted nor damaged nor
cracked in any way. The car retains its original
perfect Murray sunken floor, therefore necessitating
the original chassis instead of a aftermarket
replacement. Upon rigid examination an eerie feeling
of wonderment occurs, seeing the spot welds in the
lower rockers and the rivets under the rear bustle
all in place as new.
There are many 1932 Fords across the country and
most likely you will see one or more at any show or
cruise that you will attend. Very seldom however,
will you encounter a car that could be classified as
"very serious retro" as this one is. Every aspect of
this car is faithful to the Ford design, from the
roof insert with correct tac strip, drip rails spot
welded to body and not moulded in or bondo'd over,
cowl lights, door handles, grille ornament,
taillights and headlights, V8 ornament.
The whole effect continues into the interior. The
dash with engine turned 3 gauge panel, Victoria
special dome light all in place. The subtle look in
the interior hides the fact that this car is fully
equipped with air conditioning, heater, cruise
control, power rack and pinion steering, power 4
wheel disc brakes, hidden AM-FM stereo, hidden
6-disc CD player, Sirius satellite radio, all run
remotely.
The
car has four wheel independent suspension,
Independent chassis Co. front, Kugel Components
rear, a special built Corvette LT1 fuel injected
motor, with a 700R4 overdrive transmission. This car
has been meticulously pampered and maintained and
driven just shy of 37000 miles in the last 14 years.
The base coat clear coat paint work has stood up
wonderfully which is a testament to the great
preparation from the start.
