Talk about traditional style
and time warp kool, this old school Hot Rod roadster
travels back to simpler times, when Rockabilly music
crackled over AM radio waves and the neon light at a local
Drive-In set the mood. Inspired by an April 1951 Hot Rod
magazine cover car, Morgan's channeled open wheeled
roadster, the builders vision was to model "the ultimate
dream car", not as an exact clone but more of tribute to
times gone by. What began as a memory and a dream, has
been transformed into this mighty fine example. We invite
you to pull up a chair, sit back and enjoy the ride...
Where do
we begin? Finished in PPG single stage Black and prepared
with Squeeg's Kustom primer. This 50's era tribute
features a real steel '34 roadster body from Steve's Auto
Restoration "SAR", original Henry Steel hood w/hand formed
ridge, '37 Ford truck grill narrowed 3" with custom chin
splash apron, hand formed rear roll pan and a whole lot of
louvers - hood/top/sides/rear deck & rear roll pan.
Lighting the way and topping everything off is original
Guide headlamps, original '34 Amber driving lamp, '37 Ford
taillights, custom 2" chopped roadster top and custom Al's
Autoglass windshield...
All of
this rests on a custom built 34' Ford chassis by "Lobeck's
V-8 Shop" modified with '32 Ford front rails, bobbed rear
horns and tubular x-member. The front suspension is a
chromed "So-Cal" drilled I-beam axle, polished stainless
spindles, chrome Pete & Jakes shocks, chrome hairpins,
chrome Vega cross-steer box w/dampener, chrome panhard bar
and reversed eye multi-leaf spring. Outback resides chrome
Pete & Jakes ladder bars, Posies reversed eye Model A
springs and chrome Pete & Jakes shocks. Braking on all 4
corners are '39 Lincoln components by Wilson Welding,
chrome backing plates, Corvette master cylinder, rubber
coated/braided lines and Wilwood proportioning valve...
Power
under the louvered hood is a balanced/blueprinted 276
cubic inch 1950 Ford 8BA Flathead V8 custom assembled by
"H&H Flatheads" including SCAT 4" stroked crankshaft, ISKY
camshaft, 8.5:1 compression ratio, polished Edelbrock
aluminum heads, MSD ignition, polished Offenhauser intake
manifold, dual Stomberg 97 carbs, Power-Master alternator,
Walker radiator, Fenton headers, custom polished stainless
2" to 3" single exhaust and controlling the notes
perfectly is a Dan Tesar Spiral Turbo Specialties muffler.
Transferring the hot power is a '69 Chevy C-10 11" clutch,
T-5 5-speed transmission, '39 Ford Winters Quick Change
w/357 ratio and rolling on a set of So-Cal knock offs
wrapped in Coker Excelsior Stahl Sport Radials. We think
you get the idea...
Stepping
inside, the same level of old school kool-ness continues
with Glide Engineering seating custom stitched with
two-tone leather, door panels & trunk, German box weave
carpet, 1950 Ford dash (narrowed-10"), Haneline
instruments, chrome Limeworks steering column, Juliano's
