This old school race car was hand built in the 50's by a
Salt Lake City "Fabrication Man for the Railroads". The
fiberglass & alloy body combination were all hand formed
& fabricated from scratch...
The titled chassis is a 1929 Desoto Coupe that has been
boxed, Z'd and modified from it's original format.
"Original build features included" 1928 Desoto dropped
axle & steering box, Model "A" rear traverse leaf, 1935
Ford tranny & torque tube, 39 Ford hydraulic brakes and
shortened Desoto grill. Powered by a hopped up 24
stud Ford flathead V8 w/stroked Mercury crank, big cam,
hand built headers and very-rare" Kogel "Cast Iron"
finned high compression heads...
It remained in the original builder's hands until the
1970's when it was sold to his 15yr old Grandson who
later made a few upgrades for "High School Duty"
including the current Camaro rear differential and
Muncie 4-Speed transmission. It was later stored,
protected and remained with the same Family for 50+ years in
the Seattle area until mid 2009 when was sold to the
prior owner... |
