Simply Stunning...Without a doubt this truck may be one
of the finest examples of a 1951 F1 in the country. The
truck is a original Arizona vehicle which spent most of
its life in Tucson before ending up in the White
Mountain area of Arizona. There it was discovered by a
retired machinist in 2000 and began a five year
painstaking restoration.
Every part was disassembled and
either restored or replaced and a complete documentation
of the build will accompany the truck. Parts that were
missing were located across the country over a two year
extensive search. Every attempt was made to restore this
truck to factory specifications with just a few
upgrades. The bumpers are chromed and are of 1952
vintage. The builder was unable to locate a original
1951 rear bumper but I do have the front bumper which
will go with the truck. Also you can see that the front
grille bullets have been chromed instead of painted,
This was done just to give it a little bling which it
truly deserves. The final upgrade is the solid oak bed
slats which have been sanded and varnished to
perfection.
Nothing has ever touched this bed nor has
it ever seen water. Everything works and runs like it
did straight off the showroom floor. It’s not just like
new but better than new. Painted in the original 1951
Sheridan blue, this truck is just stunning. The quality of
the paint is extremely professional as can be seen in
the deep reflections of the pictures. The completely
rebuilt original 239 flathead V8 runs smoothly and
shifts flawlessly. It’s truly amazing how extremely
quiet these motors were back in the day.
Only 500 tested
miles have been put on this truck since its completion
and I would trust driving this truck anywhere although
it has been primarily shown over the past four years and trailered to preserve the show quality. Always a winner
wherever it goes receiving multiple awards for 1st
Place, Best of Class, Best Truck, Best Ford and Best of
Show. |
