Good honest original style cars are getting super hard
to find, especially if they have good dry climate
history, carry an unmolested presence, are desirably
equipped and sport great factory colors. This is the
type of car that you can appreciate just the way it is
or easily take it to your next level of satisfaction...
Resting in the hands of the same Mojave Desert California
owner for just about 20 years. Other than standard
maintenance items and dry garage care, it remains just
the same as it was when they acquired it from a relative
with unknown restoration history. The body is rock solid
and appears to have been refinished in it's factory
code "615" two tone colors Shoreline Beige/Gypsy Red at
some time in it's life. The interior shows very well in
it's factory code "521" Red Vinyl w/Straw Cloth, factory
dash components and correct headliner bows...
The data tag body code "55-1037D" reveals it as an
original Belair Sport Coupe while the correctly attached
vehicle ID "VC550079497" V=V8, C=Belair, 55=1955 and 1st
O=Oakland, California build origin. The current smooth
running engine appears to be a 283 is not the original
but the original is crated in the garage and is included
should you have the means to pick-up with the car. The
transmission is a manual 3-Speed (3 on the tree) with
working factory overdrive and stock rear differential.
The brakes are non power standard drums front and
rear...
In closing we think you get the idea, about as honest as
it gets. This is a real honey that is sure to please; it
runs smooth, shifts fine, goes into overdrive
automatically and provides plenty of original character.
Nope it's not perfect and not new but darn cute just the
way it is. Its that simple... |
