Stunning Perfection and Total Eye Candy, "Spyce" is full
of both and then some... 2008 Good Guys Custom Rod of
the Year - Good-Guys founder Gary Meadors introduced
this beauty as
"The Finest CUSTOM CAR IN THE WORLD TODAY, This is truly
a one of a kind , never to be another like it car"...
Purchased with the idea of
becoming one of the Best Show Cars in the Country,
this rare 1956 Chevy Handiman Wagon spent most
of it's life faithfully serving a State Park
maintenance
facility just north of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where it
lead a very hard life and even sported a few bullet
holes. Once the
coin was exchanged and the ink had dried,
it was time for a long 2,300 mile journey in the belly
of a semi to the
World
Class Builder Neil Lea of Rods-N-Restos in Centre,
Alabama for a
total transformation.
Once the body was off,
Neil and his crew begin with custom fabricating a
complete rectangular tube chassis motivated by a 2003
Corvette Fuel Injected LS-1 power train format, rear
transaxle, custom "Air Ride" suspension and much more...
The transformation of the
body/interior is downright exquisite, sexy and simply
mind blowing! With an excess of
over 140 body modifications,
1,100 custom 1-off parts
and 11,000 thousand man hours,
it 's not hard to imagine the perfection that lies
within... even the Ignition Key is custom! There is
simply no way I can list every single item or component
on this one but we think you get the idea! Notables
involved included Cris Ito (architecture), Paul Atkins Interior
(Link Here)
and
Dupont Hot
Hues paint.
In closing, please take the time to view the 120
+ photo layout and count on it to be much better in person! Yep, it's a
SHOW CAR but it was also built to drive...approx
225 miles and it rides/drives superb! Get In, Shut Up
and Drive! Truly a Masterful Creation of Style, Beauty
and Functionality...
