Carroll Shelby's 1965-1966 GT-350 was a high-performance and very trendsetting pony-car. On the track, the GT350 dominated the opposition and secured three straight SCCA B-Production championships for Ford in 1965, 1966, and 1967. This 1966 Shelby GT350, chassis #6S384 is presented with correct Ford engine/body identification numbers and well documented history within the Shelby registry. Historic documents reveal an order date of 1-11-66 by Pueblo Ford of Tucson, Arizona. Invoiced at 3,705.75, White in Color with blue Lemans stripes, factory automatic transmission, rear package shelf (non 2+2) and over rider traction bars were installed on this early Production car...
During it's dealer in-stock presence, warranty records indicate, the hood was refinished due to brake fluid (1/20/66 0 miles), Ignition switch replacement (9/2/66 11 miles) and a stripped hose clamp (9/9/66 11 miles). At the request of the original purchaser, it was refinished in green by the Pueblo Ford prior to retail delivery...
Originally purchased from Pueblo Ford by Walter J. Zimmer of Tucson on 2/22/67 with aluminum 10 Spoke wheels. In service warranty repairs performed by Pueblo Ford include removal of small rock in brake caliper, windshield wiper blades & oil pan gasket (3/7/67 522 miles), spark plugs replaced, brakes cleaned & bleed (5/16/67 2,606 miles). While in the military, Mr Zimmer was then stationed in Charleston, South Carolina where he would have the Ford dealer upgrade the automatic transmission to an appropriate 4 Speed Top Loader for Autocross. In 1973, he was transferred abroad to Richmond, New South Wales, where it received a large bumper sticker "Caution-Left Hand Drive"...
Subsequent ownership history reveals that it was purchased by Bill Shannon of Meridian, Idaho (3/90) when it was refinished in it's originally ordered White w/Blue Lemans stripes, purchased by Thom Canon of Medford, Oregon (9/01), purchased by Robert Hartman of Genoa, Nevada who installed Flowmaster exhaust, AFR Heads & 350 Locker Differential (8/02) and purchased by the current caretaker Stu Hanssen of Santa Ynez, California (5/09), with original iron "Hi-Po" heads & automatic transmission as spares. Under Stu's tedious care, the original cylinder heads were re-installed to correct specifications and everything is in correct running order (included factory original C4 auto & rear differential) |
