1967 Pontiac LeMans
Convertible Vin # 237677B102902: She's a beautiful 1967
"Le-GTO" Convertible. That's right, a clone,
recreation, better than she once was. You've herd it
all right. She started life as an original V-8/4-Speed
LeMans and has been revived with correct GTO trim. From
the rear quarter panels to the trim, grill, interior
pieces, and let's not forget the 400 under the hood,
she's all Tiger baby! Every show and cruise attended
she brought down the house.
Stunning and whistle straight with mirror reflections.
If you can believe it the paint is approaching 20 years
of age! The restoration was completed somewhere around
the late '80's to early '90's. Not to worry though,
between the creator, a friend of mine who purchased the
car seven or eight years ago and myself there has been
nothing but TLC poured into the mix. Some of the more
recent additions are: a Royal Pontiac style aluminum
intake manifold with dual quad carbs, Jardine headers,
3" exhaust (w/ merg-pipe), a new Eaton posi rear end
with 3.55 gears (really makes that Pontiac torque come
alive!), new clutch, and Hurst shifter (yes, she's an
original 4-spd car), and new 4 wheel power disc brakes.
Now stopping is quick, smooth and uneventful (quite a
feat for a car her size!). She also has fresh bushing
throughout the suspension/sway bars etc, and new air
shocks in the rear.
It's a truly iconic muscle car with all the class beauty
and originality you can't get in a Camaro or a Mustang.
I've been around the coolest of Corvettes, Chevelles,
Nova's, Mopars, you name it. I've never driven or rode
in a car that got the attention this car does. Plus she
is free of all the problematic issues muscle cars have
to deal with. No overheating, even in
a parade (I've yet to get her over 210 in the hottest of
situations!) Solid, dependable, smooth, she's ready for
a cross country trip, or just a run to the local
show. What a beautiful car! It's heart wrenching to
let her go... |
