Description
What an awesome way to haul your Hot Rod, Classic Car or Vintage Race Car. In fact, you can see the >1970 Dodge Challenger Funny Car< that inspired this wonderful re-creation at the NHRA Museum in Pomona California. Absolutely period correct with a FT Fiberglass Trends body logo... During the restoration of "Marv Eldridge's LA Challenger" mentioned above, the owner wanted an authentic appearing hauler as a way to transport the race car to events. Starting as an original and solid Chevy C-30 "Long Horn-Camper Special", the transformation began. Well known Street Rod builder Jim Meyers managed the task of the complete and thorough body off cab/chassis restoration. To ensure its absolute correctness, the owner of "Moon Eyes Speed Equipment" loaned the original "Moon Eyes" hauler to be copied for correctness. The construction of the ramp bed, body structure and "gloved" frame extension were performed by a professional So-Cal truck body fabricator. No expense was spared and and the final tab was approximately $125K...

Powertrain/Chassis: GM 400 Cubic Inch 4bbl V8, Turbo 400 Automatic, Gear-Vendor Overdrive, GM truck rear differential, heavy duty cross flow radiator w/flex fan, tube headers, custom dual exhaust, power steering, front disc brakes, dual reservoir master cylinder w/hydraulic power assist, Koni Shocks. Interior/Body: Updated with reproduction GM Factory CST seating trim, door panels & headliner, full factory instrumentation with center tachometer, air conditioning, factory dash A/C vents, polished Ididit tilt steering column, wood steering wheel and Custom Auto-Sound AM/FM radio. Ramp Bed Specs: 164" wheel base, 15.1" bed surface length, 160" wheel chocks to tail, slide out aluminum ramps, power bed winch, 4 forward storage compartments with tool box, bed chocks.
