This "Super Forty-One" has
been part of a Central California family for more than 25
years. Prior to that, it was represented as a local barn
find with a light cosmetic restoration and/or known
California dry climate history. It was purchased by the
current owner for her Father as a gift, he cared for it
for many years until his passing and since that time it
has rested in the garage with Mom. Over the past few
years, the convertible top has been restored and has
received limited operation...
One of only 12,181 56C Super
Eight Convertible Coupes built during the 1941 model year.
It is powered by what is "believed" to be the original
248 cubic-inch
dual-carburetor Fireball straight-eight engine (125HP/278
Torque). According to a specs tag on the passenger side of
the engine block, the engine #54401933 was rebuilt
in 1994 and matches the titled/registered Vin# according
to factory engine stamp pad (early CA vehicles registered
by engine#). Transferring the power is a 3 Speed Selective
Sliding gear transmission
and Semi Floating rear
differential...
Body Number 14198741, Model
56C, Style 41-4567, Trim 919 and Paint 561 "Rainer Blue".
The body is straight, solid and the older restored paint
finish is presentable with expected finish patina/age
including related body trim (see video). The paint finish
in the door jambs and other hidden areas "appears" as
factory. The interior has been re-done in a "Vinyl" with
factory type color. The Tan soft cloth convertible power
top material has been professionally restored and/or
replaced. Features include driving lights, driver spot
light, Sonomatic radio and rear fender skirts...
In
closing, this is an honest and very presentable type
survivor that will need the type of caretaker who does not
mind some tinkering and restoration to suit your own
level. Other than a mechanical function
(starts/runs/drives) test drive and an honest cosmetic
once over, we did not test every single option or other
components as to function and we will leave that up to the
next caretaker. Please take the time to view over 60+
