Wow, this Hot Red 55 Bird
has a really nice "Hot-Rod" feel, stance and overall
presence. Getting it just right without overdoing it, is
certainly an Art and this Bird has the horsepower to back
it up...
The only reason this Bird is
for sale, is due to the current health of its senior
caretaker and long time Reno area Hot-Rodder. According to
information provided by its current shop/hanger location,
he purchased it about 8-10 years ago with recent stock
style professional body-off restoration complete with 292
V-8 power-train etc. Shortly thereafter, it was
transported to a nationally known Oregon restoration
facility for some additional horsepower, performance and
cosmetic face-lift, sleeper...
Whistle straight and
professionally finished in bright red. Excellent panel
fit, the body features several subtle and yet very
tasteful modifications including 1956 Mercury Wgn
tail-lights (Canadian), smoothed front/rear bumpers,
smoothed deck lid removing fuel fill area, shaved factory
T-Bird emblems, mono-chrome body trim, grill insert,
marker lamps & wheel (body color), Dog dish hub caps,
factory non porthole hard top and folding black soft top.

Power is provided by a stout
and properly fitted Ford SVO 351 Windsor V8 crate engine and ATO built Ford C4 automatic transmission with factory
style rear differential. Features include aluminum 4bbl
intake manifold, Weber AFB 4bbl carburetor, MSD
distributor & coil, billet serpentine belt drive system,
high amp alternator, body color radiator & shroud and
highly detailed engine compartment. The rebuilt chassis
features updated front Disc brakes, modern dual reservoir
and rear traction bars...
Moving inside with and/or in
true Resto-Rod style, you will find neatly tucked factory
red-white reproduction upholstery, carpet, padded dash
w/factory instrumentation, Banjo steering wheel, updated white face
tachometer, working power seat & wipers, factory floor
shift and e-brake. Nothing but the basics here, this fun
ride was built to drive and enjoy the sound of the engine.
