Original style bubble tops
are getting super hard to find. As a way to re-visit
memories of a car that was stolen when he was much
younger, this Impala was purchased from California several
years ago by the current caretaker/owner/pilot. Since that
time it has received a cosmetic/mechanical once over and
now it's your turn...
Resting on a ground-up
restoration with very few miles, the body was stripped to
bare metal, prepped and professionally re-finished a
period white ($15K). The overall fit of the body panels
and original trim is exceptional and the factory floor
pans appear solid with no known modifications (see minor
areas noted see-undercarriage images). Some but not
all of the the chrome has been re-plated (bumpers etc) and
the trim has been polished as needed...
The original chassis
has received an equal once over with all new/rebuilt front
suspension, bearings/bushings/springs, new fuel tank,
rebuilt F/R drum brakes and includes factory power
steering. The steel wheels have been appropriately
finished in Red to match the body-side insert and fitted
with period dog dish hub caps and 5 matching 215/75R14
radial tires (factory hub caps included)...
Powering this jewel is a
rebuilt 327 Chevy V-8 (67?), updated Turbo 350 automatic
trans and factory V8 rear differential. Features include
aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Edelbrock
4bbl carburetor, GM HEI ignition, custom aluminum radiator
and fan shroud, clutch type flex fan, heat coated
Ram Horn headers w/Flowmaster equipped dual exhaust. Not
overdone, just right character...
The interior is trimmed
using only high quality reproduction materials and no
modifications were done, in order to keep the original
and/or stock feel. Features include new Red/White
Cloth/Vinyl, door panels, quality loop carpet, seat belts
F/R, white headliner, working factory dash gauges, working
wipers and original AM transistor radio (static) and
